“My love affair with meat, plenty of it and the rarer and fattier the better, comes from way back.But recently my focus has shifted from quantity to quality.This happened while on a well-documented tour of our country, when it became all too painfully obvious that not nearly enough of our livestock are free range. A visit to a local abattoir just sealed it for me. Disrespectful farming methods, wholesale carnage of carne and indiscriminate consumption needs to end. As carnivores, we must insist that our meat comes from animals who were afforded the freedom to enjoy a contented and natural life and whose final hours were as stress free and humane as possible.’ Mart
